Brand Union creates WiZink, a new brand for a new bank
Formerly bancopopular-e, WiZink utilizes the strengths and experience of Banco Popular and Värde Partners for its more than 2.5 million clients.
Madrid, 28th of September 2016. Brand Union, a WPP-owned global brand agency with more than 35 years of experience in brand creation and management, has created the brand WiZink. The slogan “Tu banco senZillo”—instead of “sencillo”—means “Your simple bank.”
WiZink is a bank specializing in credit cards and simple savings solutions for the daily management of your money. It is a digital bank with no branches and does not require you to leave your existing bank. WiZink communicates in a way that is direct and easy to understand, and it was designed to be flexible in order to respond to the credit and savings needs of its clients.
Brand Union has been integral in developing the brand, from research and analysis to brand positioning and strategy to verbal and visual identity.
The name WiZink comes from “We Think…in a new way of banking” and it’s written as it sounds in Spanish, to convey the idea of a different and simple bank—one that thinks like its client. The WiZink brand endows the bank with a new form of expression—natural and fresh—that uses the letter Z as an ownable asset to express a different way of doing things.
The visual identity illustrates the duality of credit and saving through the use of color, navy blue and turquoise, and the two levels of the logotype, which are both complemented with other design elements such as patterns. The typography is clear and direct, which facilitates reading and allows the use of illustration to convey simple and powerful concepts.
In addition to developing the main guidelines and supporting the new brand in its launch, Brand Union has also developed the applications among which highlights the new credit card, WiZink Oro, which clients began to receive in July 2016.
WiZink is a bank which is specialized in credit cards and bank saving simple solutions to meet the day-to-day needs of its clients. A bank with no branches, complementary to the entity where customers have the rest of their banking products. With more than 700 expert professionals who manage 1,800 million in customer card balances and more than 2,300 million in customer liabilities. Its shareholders are Värde Partners and Banco Popular.
